2019 Hall of Fame Award - Peg Meents
The APA is happy to announce that Peg Meents was chosen as the 2019 Hall of Fame winner. Peg and her
husband John are lifetime members and operate Big Ten Pinzgauers in Jenera, Ohio. Peg was a
dedicated employee of the American Pinzgauer Association, serving as Secretary for 19 years.
(1981-1999) This was a time when the breed had tremendous growth throughout various regions of the
United States. Peg was Co-Chairman of the 1993 World Pinzgauer Conference that started in Texas and
moved on to California. She was also the APA representative to the 1998 World Pinzgauer Conference
in the Pinzgauer homeland of Austria. The conference was one of the most highly attended Pinzgauer
events ever held in the United States. As Co-owner of Big Ten Pinzgauers, she was responsible for
helping start numerous new Pinzgauer herds throughout Ohio and the Midwest. Peg loves the beauty of
the Pinzgauer breed, and has a very fond spot in her heart for several of the breeders she worked
with in her almost two decades at the APA.
Thank you for the many hours you contributed and for your continued dedication to the Pinzgauer
breed, Peg! We appreciate all you have done. Congratulations!
